8) Normalize Form — Structure & Detailed Guide
Normalize Form helps you reformat and align your chord chart to make it neat, consistent, and structured according to your song’s composition. The process consists of three main stages, with several adjustable options for precise control.
1️⃣ Input / Paste Chord Chart
Paste or type your raw chord chart and lyrics into the input field. You can copy from any text source like notepad, lyric sheet, or another editor.
- Use the basic format: chords on top, lyrics below.
- Avoid excessive tabs — the system will automatically adjust spacing during the Analyze process.
2️⃣ Analyze & Edit Composition
After pressing Analyze, the system scans your chord structure and divides it into bars.
- Adjust Quantize: Set the chord density per bar (e.g., 1/4, 1/8) to keep spacing consistent across lines.
- Set Bars per Line: Choose how many bars appear on each line to match your song section (e.g., 4 bars per line for verse, 2 for chorus).
- Preview Layout: Review and fine-tune chord alignment before applying full normalization.
3️⃣ Normalize Output
Press Normalize to generate the final version of your chord chart.
- Unifies bar width and spacing for perfect visual alignment.
- Adjusts chord spacing based on your quantize settings.
- Removes extra whitespace and empty lines.
- Displays the final layout in monospaced text for precise alignment.
Once done, you can directly:
Send to Editor — automatically transfers the normalized chart into the main editor textarea, ready for saving, styling, or transposing.
- Normalize before adding color or chord styles to keep formatting clean.
- Use Normalize to create new chart templates faster.
- Ideal for band rehearsals — ensures every chord line is evenly spaced and easy to read on screen.
